The Challenge
In the Horn of Africa, maternal health remains a pressing concern. Countries like Somalia face maternal mortality rates as high as 621 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births—among the highest globally. Factors such as limited access to quality healthcare, malnutrition, and inadequate prenatal services contribute to these alarming statistics.
Too many mothers lack access to the most basic care, and their babies are at risk before they even take their first breath.
Our Mission
The Amoud Foundation has been dedicated to improving maternal and child healthcare since 2010. We have established 25 Mother and Child clinics in Ethiopia and Somalia. These clinics provide life-saving care to mothers who would otherwise have no access to maternity services before, during, and after pregnancy.
With the Every Pregnancy campaign this Ramadan, we are expanding our efforts to ensure that no mother is left behind. Our mission is to:
